How long have you been riding for?
What or who influenced you to start riding bicycles?
I love being outdoors, especially on the trails. A friend introduced me to mountain biking and I was hooked. After a few years I finally tried a road bike and while I can’t say one is better than the other, I enjoy them both for different reasons.
What disciplines do you compete in and what do you love most about this type of riding?
I’ve competed in triathlon and gravel races. I like the discipline of training for endurance events, pushing my own limits.
Give us some of your racing/competition highlights:
Completing a full Ironman in 2012 was when I finally felt comfortable calling myself an “athlete”. Was also a recipient of the 2015 Women’s Bike Mechanic Scholarship at UBI and am a Certified Bike Technician.
Do you have any goals for 2015?
To get more butts on bikes! I want to continue to grow the sport of cycling, especially among women and youth, sharing my passion
for riding to help others feel comfortable and confident on the bike.
What’s some of the best bicycle-related advice someone has given you that made a huge difference for you?
On a mountain bike - “Look where you want the bike to go”… and I share this piece of advice often with others.
What's your day job?
